Privacy Policy
Vitaran is an app for newspaper distributors to keep customers, newspapers, monthly bills and payments. It is operated by Vitaran Run By E-katta (Chatrapati Sambhajinaga,Maharashtra). This page explains what data the app keeps and why.
1. Data we collect
- Your account: your name, mobile number, email (optional), business name, city and address. Your password is stored only in encrypted (hashed) form.
- Business data you enter: your customers' names, mobile numbers, addresses and areas, the newspapers they take, bills, payments and your bill details (optionally a logo image, UPI ID and bank details printed on your bills). You decide what to enter.
- Problem reports: when you use "Report a problem", the text you write, an optional screenshot you pick, the app screen and version, and your device/browser type, so our team can fix the problem and reply to you.
- Security records: login times, IP address and device/browser type for important actions, to protect your account and investigate misuse.
- Phone notifications (Android app): if you allow notifications, a notification token for your phone, linked to your login, so we can send the reminders you choose and messages from the Vitaran office. It is removed when you sign out.
- Agreement records: when you accept the Terms and Conditions, which version you accepted, when, and from which app version and IP address.
The Android app saves bill PDFs only in the Documents/Vitaran folder on your own phone, so you can open them without internet; we do not read other files. The app does not use your location, contacts, camera, microphone or SMS. There are no advertisements and no third-party analytics or tracking tools.
2. Why we use it
- To let you log in and use the app: customer lists, daily distribution, monthly bills, payments and reports.
- To give support when you contact us, and to keep the service secure.
3. Sharing
We do not sell or rent your data. Your data is stored on our server provider's computers only to run the service. Notifications are delivered through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, which receives the notification token and the notification text only to deliver it. When you tap WhatsApp, SMS, email or share in the app, the text is handed to the app you choose; that app's own policy applies. We may disclose data if the law requires it.
4. Security
All data travels over encrypted HTTPS connections. Each distributor's data is kept separate and only that distributor's logins can see it. Office staff access is limited by role and recorded.
5. Keeping and deleting data
We keep your data while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account at any time: in the app open More → Delete account, or use the web page https://api.vitaran.ekatta.in/delete-account. We complete the request within 30 days. Your account is closed and names, mobile numbers, addresses and notes (yours and your customers'), your logo, UPI ID, bank details and problem reports are erased. Bill and payment amounts are kept without names because financial records must not be altered; security records are kept for up to the period the law requires.
6. Children
Vitaran is a business tool for adults. It is not meant for anyone under 18.
